the synth swipe feature was something I first heard about in a program called sample robot. But Emu has taken it to the next level. I love to see American companies to good... Emu keep up the good work!!!

There's going to be a cross upgrade for proteus x users so watch out for that.

Tweak.. quick question.. if i already own the 1820M dock and the emulator X software (ver 1.82), I just need to order the X2 upgrade correct?

If you have EX or PX V1.x...get the upgrade
If you have a Digital Audio System...get the add on
If you have a PX we have just introduced a PX to EX2 cross grade

Nice to see you here, Man! I have a question for you.....I keep hearing about these studio tools CDs (Ableton Lite, Cubase SE, etc) that come with Emulator X. Here's the question....what gives? I bought the Emulator X Studio with the software and the 1820m and some incredible sounds, but no sequencer, no mastering plugs, nada!!! Did I get a bad box or what? I purchased it from Musician's Friend brand new!

Has anyone done this? If yes, what was your exact configuration. I have a ton of E4 CDs I want to import in X2.

I've done it using 2 methods.

Use EOS 4.7 in your sampler. Format removable scsi media as PC-DOS. Load and save the bank onto the media in e4b format. Connect the removable media to a PC and it will load right into emulator X.

or

Use Chicken systems translator. Load the CD Rom and view the contents in Translator. Bank by bank convert the banks to E4b format and save to a location on your hard drive.

There may be a way to to it directly from the EOS CD now; it did these conversions over a year ago and could not get it to work using the supplied conversion program.

Thanks Tweak, option 2 seems to be working for me. Did you post something about "deficiencies" in the Chicken translator when converting your E4 CDs to X2 format?

After running some updates to Emulator X2 tonight, and installing a few of Emu's X-version sound sets, I decided I'd prefer to keep all the Emu samples in a sample directory so it's easier to back up and restore if Windows XP gets hosed. Also for managing disk space. Well guess what kiddies? Emu by default saves some sounds to an Emu Sound Central directory, and others to the Emu folder, and still others to a third location. After manually moving files then rebuilding the library, I still couldn't locate some of the samples, so I've had to uninstall and reinstall all the sample content. Huge PITA. So if you're looking to install Emulator X, you may wish to plan out where your sample data will be stored ahead of time.

Have you already tried the librarian feature of Emulator X2?

I'm finally getting around to learning to use the X2 with guitar.

I upgraded from V1 that came with EmulatorX Studio.

I have plans to get into RME hardware.

So my X2 isn't going to work without E-mu hardware in the machine or will it still work if it's installed and then I change cards?

Is there an cross grade path to get the version that runs on anything?
