Are the Firestudio Mobile and the Project essentially the same interface (apart from the obvious fact that the project has four times the number of inputs)? Basically I'm curious if they have the same preamps and such. Whether they would perform identically or not.

The docs say the preamps are Xmax Class A for both products. Oddly, the gain control range goes to 70db on the mobile and only 50db on the firestudio project (though the picture shows 60db). If that is a meaningful and true statistic that would be an advantage for the mobile.

The project says it has the Dice II chipset. No mention of that in the mobile.

preamp specs are near the bottom of each page.
