Review of the Akai MPD16

Do you guys think they will discontinue the mpd 16 with all the new pad controllers they have released? I just bought one used off ebay then another new from zzounds as a backup. I know it sounds like overkill but it works awesome with my new drum sampler and it's still cheaper than buying any others on the market. Was just curious what other's might think of the recent flood of pad controllers and the low price point of the mpd16.

Well, after a bunch of people bragging at the Ableton forum, I decided to keep my mpd from ebay and send the new one back to zzounds un-opened and have them ship me a korg padKontrol instead.

Newbie question

I got my MPD16 today, it's my first MIDI device and I can't seem to make it work.

I wan't to control EZdrummer on Nuendo,I installed the drivers and the configuration software and hooked it up via USB.

Then on Nuendo I created a MIDI track with the input set to MPD16 and the output to EZdrummer but nothing happens, the hardware seems to work right, I can turn the leds on and off but that's all.

I also played with the channels and the configuration software with no luck.

Any help is highly appreciated, I'm ultra-lost and I can't find any useful information on the web
