Recomendations - Free Plugz & VSTi's

Postby drewvis on Fri Nov 16, 2007 9:56 am

I have the digital fishphones plugins and pretty much always use BLOCKFISH - I think it's amazing.

I was wondering what other free plugz and VSTi's you would all recomend?

Also has anyone used the SIR 2 reverb? Is it worth forking out for or are there any decent free reverbs?

Agreed.....that's the best place to start for softies. Hundreds of freeware plug-ins are available there.

Some of my faves: Crystal, Synth1, Superwave P8.......on and on...
KORG TOYS: M3, Triton, Legacy DE
Kurzweil K2661
Alesis ION

And some vintage stuff.

The classic series plug-ins from http://www.kjaerhusaudio.com are very good.

Does anyone else find that Glaceverb is RAM hungry?

I used it as an insert on 4 tracks and my CPU got munched...

(tis very good plugin though... made me realise that RX Bandits arent clever at all, they just bung on tons of weird reverb effects!)

Pretty much all of the reverbs i've used have been. I usually add them in later.
