Review of Apple's New Soundtrack Pro

Its just out of the box here. Some preliminary notes:

1. Eminently stable.

2. Has 2 modes; a sample editor mode and a multi track mode.

The sample editor mode can be used from within Logic and within Kontakt 2 (the only 2 I tried so far). Its great for adding destructive audio editing to Logic as it can do stuff Logic's editor can't do--like apply plugins destructively!

Its also good for fixing problems with your pre-masters, click and pop removal and noise reduction. You can edit the left and right side of a stereo file independently.

The multi-track mode is audio-only; no midi. Like GarageBand you can drag in Loops from the apple loops browser.

3. Comes with a nice library of sound FX
