Note: this is not asking which is best, but which you use the most. You can append you answers with discussions.

I use Cubase SX 2 for multitrack editing, and Sound Forge v6 for single track editing.

I use Cakewalk's Sonar for production, and Adobe's Audition for processing.

There are other great programs out there, but these have so many features that I need/use, and I have become so familiar with them, that I can't envision a program that would take me away from these two.

I gotta tell you I"ve used several different systems and I've yet to find anything I love as much as Sonar. I FINALLY upgraded to Sonar 3 RIGHT BEFORE sonar 4 came out, and I can't afford to go up to 4 right now, but I'm loving sonar 3.

I've used Adobe Audition/Cool Edit Pro, Pro Tools HD, Pro Tools LE, and Digital Performer. I've got minimal experience with Cubase. I have not yet had the opportunity to experiment with Logic, because I don't have access to a Mac with it installed on it. I'd love to, because I hear such great things about it.

Sonar still wins in my book

I scribble stuff out on Project5 then work in Sonar 3. Im still learning the ins and outs of Sonar and probably wont pickup any of the others for some time. There are so many other things I want first and Im feeling a pain in my back pocket.

I use Nuendo, but I gave the vote to Cubase SX, since it's a reasonable equivalent in most cases.

Yes - they both run on the same engine and interface - the difference is primarily in multimedia/video handling features ...

My poll software only allowed 8 entries. Which I found out after typing in about 18 different sequencers.

Sonar 4.01 studio edition here.

Also I use Sonar 1 XL for creating studioware panels and making CAL utilities to use in version 4 (since they took these features out in Sonar 2 and after).

i guess i'm the only one using fruityloops  i used to use FL3 for most of the sequencing but when i had to add guitar, vox or sample something i had to go into cakewalk homestudio and do it which i must admit didnt make me want to create much. plus it'd stop playing audio after a few hours of work so i had to choose. which one let me create with the least trouble and that was FL. plus i find my mixes a bit more punchy with less work in FL. though i feel a bit limited by it not being able to record audio. that's all about to change though as i just purchased FL5 producer edition.

I admit I haven't tried alot of the other software out there but just chose to learn CubaseSX because I saw it's incredible power potential a few years back and so I've stuck with it exclusively and am not unhappy at all.
Happy music making!

I'm a Cubase SX/SL convert for sure. It's a fantastic tool.

I'm still using Vegas 2.0, which has been great. I might eventually try something like Nuendo, or maybe Cubase SX...
