here is what i found....

Support for Apple Core Audio and Digidesign DAE hardware lets you choose the audio interface that best meets your needs. TDM and Audio Units compatibility gives you a wide choice of plug-ins, while AAF, OMF, and XML support allows easy transfers between Logic Pro and other popular audio and video applications such as Pro Tools and Final Cut Pro.

Hardware freedom

Logic Pro can be used with any audio interface that works with Mac OS X, so you never have to worry about restrictive proprietary hardware requirements.

i just wanted to run it by the pro's before i ordered everything asap ;)

It's about time.... Digital Performer has been doing this since April 2005.

DP also has broader hardware support, with full latency compensation (which Apple has promised to deliver in Logic Pro 7.1, but which was unavailable at press time), and new, deeper DAE support for Digidesign systems. Owners of Digidesign systems will find full support not only for TDM, but also for RTAS and even AudioSuite plug-ins, giving DP broader DAE support than is available in Logic Pro.

I was under the impression that DP and Logic were only compatible with the HD or older DSP based PT system.

I don't see why you couldn't use it with the 002. I there are people who are using Cubase with an 002 - although painfully.

I had heard that you could use the Digi002 with other software, but if you have the control surface 002 you could only use it with PT.

I know there were problem using the digi 002 with Logic. This was due, from what I understand, to a shoddy digidesign core audio implementation. That appeared to be true right about when OSX 10.3 and Logic 6 were out. Today I don't know. Maybe they fixed it. I personally would not buy a digi 003 to use it with Logic.

If I had to have it for a ProTools LE installation and wanted to run logic on the side, that would be fine.
